Psych, On TV

Left: Shawn. Right: Burton "Gus" Guster

Another TV drama for me, this time a US one. It's called Psych. Here's the summary from imdb:

A novice sleuth is hired by the police after he cons them into thinking he has psychic powers that help solve crimes. With this assistance of his reluctant best friend the duo take on a series of complicated cases.
And this is from other sources:

Shawn Spencer has developed a keen eye for detail after being instructed by his police officer father to note even the most minute details of his surroundings.

After conning the police into believing that he's a psychic, Shawn opens a detective agency with best friend Burton Guster.

So that basically covers it.  Shawn Spencer is a guy who was raised by a father who was a police officer and who has made Shawn into an amazing observer with heightened senses who sees even the tiniest detail. At first he calls in accurate tips to help the police solve crimes, but then they started to suspect him, so he bluffed his way through by telling them he's a psychic, which is impossible to prove. His career as a "psychic detective" starts when he took on his first case, involving a kidnapping which the police was not able to solve anyhow. His rival, Lassiter, is a crime detective in the police force, who is furious that Shawn (and a psychic, for god's sake) solved all the crimes he was unable to solve.

It's a great show really. It's sorta like Sherlock Holmes, but Shawn has to cover up by adding some psychic acts into his explanations, even though in truth his crime-solving is logical and all based on his perfect observations. He gets help from his best friend, Burton Guster, who adds spice into the show by being the "Dr.Watson" and causing some really "LOL" exchanges between him and Shawn.

It's a lighthearted show that keeps on making me laugh regularly. The dialogue is pretty funny, and watching Shawn and Lassiter (police officer) "fighting" is totally hilarious. All the characters are well-developed, and jokes are jokes and never centre around the female characters, so to speak.
I've only watched 3 episodes of season 1 so far, and it already made me laughed a lot. Psych has 6 seasons each with 15 something episodes, so it'll last me a long time. =D

I don't have to scout around for shows anymore! ^.^ Love this, definitely enjoying this, it's great.
