Book Review: Eagle Strike

Eagle Strike is the fourth in the Alex Rider series by Anthony Horowitz. It starts off with Alex spending his holidays with his friend Sabina, whose holiday home was blown up under mysterious circumstances. Alex also saw Yassen Gregorovich, the guy who killed Alex's uncle in the first book. He found out that Yassen has talked with Damian Cray (pop star) on the phone, and told M16 but M16 ignored it as they didn't want the press to know that they're investigating Cray.

Alex then started to investigate the matter on his own, meeting up with people involved and also entering the Cray Industries where Cray was supposedly producing a new game. He found out that there was a plot involving nuclear missiles. Sabina was then kidnapped for ransom and Alex had to save Sabina and also the world.
Eagle Strike is a typical action novel, infused with suspense as well as surprises. There is a lot of action and near-death escapes, and readers will find themselves wondering whether everything will come out right in the end (or at least, HOW things become right when it seem so impossible). Not a bad novel, a really great and fun read actually, but not for keeps.

Rating: 4 Stars
