Living For The Sweet Stuff

Today is the 31st and finally, finally I managed to persuade my mom to go get some Baskin Robins for me. There's this BR shop near my old house but "strangely" enough I have NEVER been there in all my 17 years. LOL. And the first time I actually ate some BR ice-cream was this year, March 31st at Genting Highlands during my high school grad trip. So this is the second time.

I only get to eat this on every 31st because then there's a 31% discount. Without discount, the ice-cream is extremely expensive. Yes it is.
See so many people in the shop.

Ice-cream cakes. Only ate once on one of my birthdays.
Menu boards.
I got two Quarts, which cost RM60 something. We had to wait for a long time for our turn, but finally bought them. =) Excited!

My haul! =)
By the way, due to the bag being a paper bag, they put dry ice inside it, so that it won't get wet. I didn't know and held on the dry ice for too long and got a frostbite on the edge of my finger. :(  It hurts!

Dry ice, emitting white vapours, commonly used on stage for a smoke effect.
See how much smoke it emits when water is dripped on it. This is sublimation in action.
Here's the Quart tub! =)
First one: VeryBerry Strawberry & Cherry Jubilee. Half half.
Inside! It looks SO YUMMY! And I love the two different pink shades. The darker one is the cherry, lighter one is strawberry.
This is TOTALLY YUMMY!! I especially love fruit flavours for expensive ice-cream (same with Haagen Dazs) because the fruits inside the ice-cream is BIG and real. For example, the strawberry one has many strawberry halves and the cherry one has cherry halves. I am in LOVE.

Second one: Perils of Praline and Mango Yogurt. Mixed, half half.
Looks a bit watery on top, but isn't underneath. The darker yellow one is mango, while the lighter one is P.of Praline.
This is yummy too!!! It's a perfect mix because the mango one is slightly sourish (due to yogurt), while the Praline one is on the sweeter side. So I will never tire of eating this mix because when the Praline is too sweet, I changed to the Mango one, and vice versa. Yummmmm ^.^ There are also caramel and chocolate chips inside the Praline one. =)

Out of all four, I'm loving the Cherry Jubilee the MOST. It's not overly sweet, but has a great cherry smell (love it!) and has big chunks of cherries. Can't wait for the next 31st to get it again. Haha.

I am so living for the sweet stuff! Crave everything sweet from chocolates to ice-creams to sundaes to cheesecakes to caramel to jellies (seaweed type). =D I didn't get a chocolate type for the BR above because my dad doesn't like chocolate ice-cream. >.< But will certainly get it one day. Anyone sharing this sweet craze of mine???

Botanical Garden--Friends

This is JM
Sorry for the slightly late post. Off to Botanical Garden with friends on the 27th. The Garden is a less than once every three years visit for me, so well I was a little wondering what have changed.

Day started by staring at our bus leaving before our eyes. LOL. You see, JM's house is near a bus stop, and we were all talking too much until we forgot the time and didn't reach the bus stop in time (which is only a 10seconds walk, so you can imagine our feelings..><)
This is YP

So we waited for the 8.30 bus instead of the 8.00 one (which left). We spent about 45minutes (bus was late) talking about a lot of stuff and basically never running out of topics. After we got on the bus, we started to worry about YP, who was waiting for the bus a little way up, alone. We were all worried that she had got onto the 8.00 bus which we missed.

Fears confirmed when JM called YP's mom and she said that YP had gone out earlier. (YP doesn't have a phone with her) But we relaxed slightly because even though she doesn't have a phone, we were pretty certain that she will be able to navigate the journey by herself. However funny she is, she's rational and unlikely to panic/become lost.

More talking was done on the way to Komtar. When we arrived, we took some photos with Prangin Mall's Christmas decorations before heading to Komtar bus terminal.

And guess what? True to cat form (lol), YP turned up at the bus terminal. She was overjoyed to see us, and so were we. She thought we had gone on with the 7.30 bus and she was the late person, so she continued on the 8.00 bus without jumping off even though we weren't on it. Even funnier was she didn't have a contact book with her, and she forgot all our numbers except mine, but unfortunately she got one of the digits wrong. She was such a funny person. LOL.

And this is yours truly, obviously. :D
Tied hair up because it's TOO long already. *zzz*

Our bus to Botanical Garden came, we boarded it and off we went, finally. Along the way we exchanged stories about our driving lessons. Needless to say, YP's one was most hilarious. All of us fell over laughing listening to her account of crashing into the tree. JM and YY also picked up some useful tips from us for their first practical lesson.

When we reached, the sun was so high up in the sky that umbrellas were opened almost immediately. We walked along the path, taking photos and admiring the trees and bushes. Photos below.

Tram, an alternative if you don't want to walk
Yours truly and JY

Me!
JM, Me, YP and YY. See we're all so happy. =D

Me and JY, haha
In search of a more shaded place, we came to a small stream. Always excited about water, we noted the warning sign about possible water contamination, then took off our shoes and plunged our feet into the cold, clear water. The rocks are a bit sharp underneath, but by navigating our way through, it was possible to avoid rocks and step onto fine sand.

The water is heavenly!
Can't see their eyes...LOL
We came up after a group of monkeys ran up the bridge to watch. One of the monkeys swung too hard on the branch and fell into the water. It was really funny watching it swim to the shore. Haha. After that we found a secluded place and ate our lunch, making sure no monkeys are around.

We walked along the paths and followed it up to the dam. It was quite far, going there and rounding back to where we started near the main gate, but non-stop talking and photographing every few minutes made the walk more fun. ^.^ On one occasion we were even chased by monkeys because YY accidentally forgot to put the bread back into her bag and those monkeys recognized Gardenia. Hahaha. Did not film it as we were all too scared. LOL.
Look, natural bonsai! Hahaha

Unfortunately nobody else is there to help us take the photo, or else YY could have taken the plant behind YP
Switch!

A photo collage by JY, monkey theme. Haha.
Me and YP. Let my hair down for some unknown reason.
Look, BIG BIG leaf!
In the shape of a heart. They pose better than us. LOL.
Coming out of the Garden gates, we came upon a magnificent display of landscaped lily-lotus garden. The sun was so hot that I escaped to under a tree, armed with mango slices and a bottle of 100+ from a nearby stall. The others took these photos of flowers. Credit to them. Photos below.

The gates.

They joined me under the huge tree which gave us plenty of shade from the hot sun. We listened to songs on JY's phone (and also her singing..=.=, I'm thinking her singing is an involuntary action controlled by her medulla oblongata, haha). Feeling bored, we took many photos of us. Unfortunately there are always only four of us in any photo because no one could help us take all five of us together.

Ahahaha. :P
We waited for the bus for so long until we decided to walk along the road toward the bus stop further away. Obviously along the way we still took a hell lot of photos (but some turned out to be blurred). Stopped taking photos after we reached the bus stop because we started to play games while waiting...it was really, really hilarious. We all fell over laughing, again.
Wooden bridge before bus stop.
Met a twenty-something young woman from Paris at the bus stop who asked us for directions to Tanjung Bungah. She was friendly enough and we thought her brave beyond belief to be coming here, alone, in a foreign country. LOL. Bus came soon enough and we headed back to Komtar. Visited Prangin Mall for a bit, where JY purchased a bag for her sister (it was quite nice). Checked out Popular there, it was quite big and I had a fun time browsing the books. I saw Life of Pi. (I want!!!)

It was drizzling by then outside but we ran over to a MacDonald stall to get sundae cones. Mine's plain because I don't want to look like a cat with chocolate all over myself. >.< I smuggled my cone up the bus to finish it. Haha. And finally, we returned home. Truth be told, on every bus that I've sat with them, we gave up seats for different old people every single time. It was very funny but heartwarming at the same time. =)

Photos of at least four of us below~ I love these the most. ^.^

Looksie here!
Get set....

Go! Haha. See how funny we all are. :D
Fun day! Thanks guys! =)
